Chinese Tech giant Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. The design language of Redmi Note 9 Pro is very cool. We liked it. Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset which we have seen earlier in Realme 6 Pro smartphone. Along with this, Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with 6.67 inches of full HD+ punch hole display with 5020 mAh of battery capacity. Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with 48 megapixel of Quad camera as well. Starting from the box of the phone then the colour of the box is white, highlighting the picture of Redmi Note 9 Pro along with the key specs about the chipset of Redmi Note 9 Pro that is Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. The design language of Redmi Note 9 Pro is very different, as we have said earlier and we liked it very much. The placement of camera module is on the middle of the top having a squarish design. Generally, we have seen the squarish design on the top corner of the smartphones but it is placed on the top middle but it looks very pretty and different. The phone looks very Shiny. The colour of the phone we have is 'Aurora blue' and Redmi Note 9 Pro is available in two other colour options as well, that is 'Glacier white' and 'interstellar black'. The in hand feel of the phone is good. It looks big in hand but surprisingly even after having a 5020 mAh of battery and having a weight of 210 grams, it does not feel that much heavy in hand which again a good thing. The weight distribution on the phone is nicely done. Both the front and back side of the Redmi Note 9 Pro is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

On the bottom of Redmi Note 9 Pro, there is a speaker grill, microphone, USB type-C port and 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the left hand side of the phone, there is only the sim card tray. On the top of the phone, there is a IR blaster and noise cancelling microphone. On the left hand side of the phone there is a volume rocker up and down and the power on/off button which Doubles up as a side mounted fingerprint sensor. Talking about the OS of Redmi Note 9 Pro then it comes with MIUI 11 which is based on Android 10. There are many pre-installed apps in the phone but they can be uninstalled. Actually we were disappointed a little because we have seen many content recommended ads which not seen much on K series phones. Of course they can be removed but why to show so much ads. Talking about other features of Redmi Note 9 Pro then it comes with LED Notification light, supportable of Wi-Fi calling, IR blaster is also there in the phone which can be used as a remote, supportable of camera to API, supportable of widevine L1 etc. Talking about the Sar value of the phone then they are under permissible limits. Head Sar value - 0.898 w/kg and body Sar value - 0.483 w/kg. Talking about sensors of the phone then it comes with all the types of sensors including side mounted fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock. Both the fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock works really very fast and reliable.

Redmi Note 9 Pro : Multi-media Experience
Talking about the multimedia experience then we have seen many videos on it. We think the display could have been better. It is not bad but we aspect a little more from the display. Of course because of big display you can enjoy viewing movies but the dynamic range and colours we aspect is not there on the video. Talking about the audio of the phone then it is loud and the quality of the audio is also good. Overall the video viewing experience of the phone is also good but we aspect a little more and the audio is above average.

Redmi Note 9 Pro : Performance
Talking about the performance of the Redmi Note 9 Pro then it comes with Snapdragon 720G processor which is a new and decent processor and based on 8 NM Technology so it is very power efficient. The phone comes with a battery capacity of 5020 mAh with 18 watt of fast charging. So even after moderate usage the battery will last for 1 1/2 or 2 days. So no problem from that side. One thing to say that if there would be 27 water fast charger instead of 18 watt of fast charger then the phone will get charged soon but as the phone comes with 18 watt of charger it will take 2 or 2 and half hours to charge fully.
Talking about the gaming performance of Redmi Note 9 Pro then you can be able to play pubg in smooth and Ultra settings but not able to play exterme settings as it is not supportable of HDR. Talking about COD then you can be able to play COD in high settings and even you can play in very high settings as well but you does not notice that smoothness that G90T delivers. You can play fortnite in medium settings very smoothly but in high settings you will notice some frame drops. For the purpose of regular usage or for multitasking, running heavy apps etc 720G is more than enough. If you buy the highest variant that is 6 GB + 128 GB then you are going to love it. You does not any problem and the phone runs very smoothly.

The price of Redmi Note 9 Pro starts at Rs. 12,999 and expected to go at least Rs. 18,875.

Verdict
If we compare Redmi Note 9 Pro with Redmi Note 8 Pro as it is the successor of the same then it's a very interesting product. But for some conditions Redmi Note 9 Pro may be downgraded. If we compare it with Redmi Note 8 Pro than Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with 64 megapixel of primary sensor but Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with 48 megapixel of primary sensor. If we have a look on charging then both the phones comes with 18 watt of fast charger. If we have a look on the processor then both the G90T and 720G are equal and it has been seen even in antutu score, so we will say it's not really a big upgrade. Overall as we said earlier the design language, finish cut of the phone is really very impressive. It looks and feels like a premium phone. We think it is the biggest highlight of the phone. All depends on the price of the phone. If it comes under 13000 to 14000 then it really a very good product and if come above that price range then we will say the phone should be made better by considering the price.
